1. Purpose
This policy sets out how the teachers, staff and students of [SCHOOL NAME] may use generative artificial intelligence tools in a responsible, safe and pedagogically useful way.
2. Scope
It applies to all teaching and administrative staff, and to the students of [LEVELS/GRADES], when they use AI tools in school-related activities, on or off campus.
3. Principles
- Transparency: it is declared when a piece of work was AI-assisted.
- Human oversight: AI supports, it does not replace, the teacher's judgment.
- Privacy: personal data of minors and sensitive information are not entered into AI tools.
- Equity: access to AI must not create unfair advantages or exclude anyone.
- Truthfulness: generated information is verified before it is used or shared.
4. Permitted uses
- Lesson planning and drafts of materials.
- Creating rubrics, quizzes and examples, reviewed by the teacher.
- Administrative support: emails, announcements and summaries.
- Preliminary feedback on work, always validated by the teacher.
5. Uses not permitted
- Entering students' personal data into public AI tools without a legal basis or consent.
- Presenting AI-generated content as one's own without review or verification.
- Making assessment or disciplinary decisions based solely on an AI detector.
- Using AI to generate inappropriate or discriminatory content, or content that infringes copyright.
6. Privacy and data
Personally identifiable information of minors will not be shared with AI tools without a legal basis and consent, in accordance with the applicable Mexican legislation on the protection of personal data. When in doubt, the information is anonymized.
7. Academic integrity
The teacher defines, per activity, whether the use of AI is permitted, limited or forbidden, and communicates it clearly. Students must declare their use of AI when the activity allows it.
8. Staff training
